Job summary

Summit Air, part of the Ledcor Group, is seeking a Ramp Attendant to join our aviation grounds crew in Yellowknife, NT. You will marshal aircraft on the ramp, load/unload baggage, and assist with grooming and departure prep under supervision.

We value hands-on workers who can lift heavy loads, work in all weather, and meet pre-employment drug screening and security clearance requirements. Training is provided, with local applicants preferred.

Qualifications

• Training provided for the successful candidate.
• Previous ramp, labourer, or other job-site experience an asset.
• Previous forklift or loader experience an asset.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position (bending, climbing, heavy lifting).
• Must hold valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Must meet pre-employment drug & alcohol testing requirements.
• Must be able to obtain airport security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Marshal aircraft in ramp area and tow aircraft on the ground.
• Unload and load passenger baggage and cargo to/from aircraft.
• Assist with aircraft grooming and washing.
• De-ices aircraft and assist crew to prepare aircraft for departure.
• Perform snow removal duties as required.
• Ensure necessary ground equipment is available in the ramp area for upcoming flights.
• Assist with freight handling.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by Ground Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Work Conditions

• 4 on,4 off rotating shift schedule including day shift 5:00am - 5:00pm and night shift 5:00pm - 5:00am
• Working outside in all weather conditions
• Those local to Yellowknife given preference due to the location of this project
