Job summary

Summit Air in Yellowknife, NT is hiring a Mechanic's Helper to join the maintenance team to support the upkeep and repair of aircraft ground service equipment and facilities.

This role requires safety focus, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work well both with others and independently. Pre-employment drug testing applies, and the position offers opportunities to grow within a leading North American aviation group.

Qualifications

  • 0-4 years experience in a maintenance shop environment.
  • Experience in servicing and repairing motorized vehicles and industrial equipment an asset.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Problem-Solving Skills/Strong Technical Aptitude/Strong Work Ethic/Ability to take direction and learn quickly/Strong verbal, written and computer skills
  • Ability to work well with others and alone.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and repairs aircraft ground service equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Performs troubleshooting of aircraft ground support equipment on a scheduled/unscheduled basis.
  • Performs immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on company equipment.
  • Maintains and makes repairs to facilities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Maintains Equipment status report along with updating equipment service intervals.
  • Liaises with vendors and secures favorable pricing of parts and services; initiates purchase orders.
  • Keeps tools and support equipment in safe and operational working condition while maintaining a clean work environment.

Summit Air is currently hiring for a Mechanic's Helper to join the team in Yellowknife, NT! The Mechanic's Helper will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of industrial aircraft ground service equipment, as well as general facilities maintenance.
