Summary

Ramp Agents are responsible for facilitating aircraft turnaround (arrivals and departures). Under the guidance of Lead GSA’s, they direct aircraft into gates, load, unload, and sort luggage and freight, de-ice aircraft, service lavatories, fill potable water, and assist during gate push-back.

Job Duties
  • Maintain safety and security of the ramp at all times.
  • Assist in ramp setup and equipment/baggage storage.
  • Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Marshal aircraft on the ramp, directing, assisting, and parking arriving, departing, and towed aircraft.
  • Handle customer baggage and airfreight courteously and accurately, including loading, unloading, sorting, and transferring to carousels.
  • Service aircraft as needed (lavatories, water fills, cabin grooming, deicing).
  • Observe safe ground-handling procedures and maintain ground service equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures and airline policies.
  • Communicate constantly with flight crews and ground personnel.
  • Report hazards and incidents, and promote safety policies.
  • Participate in training to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure quality control in own activities and cooperate with inspectors.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work permanently in Canada.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Obtain necessary airport and Transport Canada security clearances.
  • Capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
  • Work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
  • Complete airline-specific training and recertification.
