Job description

Job Position: Ramp Agent

This is an interview position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate all operations related to aircraft loading and unloading activities.
  2. Provide leadership to cargo handlers, operational staff, and personnel support.
  3. Perform duties as a courier, cargo handler, and/or dispatcher as required.
  4. Model exemplary behaviour for hourly employees, including strong communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills through Best Practices methods.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months of experience/training in jet aircraft ground support equipment or aircraft operations.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel at a basic level.
  • Knowledge of FAMIS, COSMOS, email, and FedEx intranet systems is preferred.
  • Ability to prepare and process Canadian customs paperwork.
  • Ability to complete all basic training requirements and maintain certifications through annual recurrency training (e.g., GSE permits, DG certification, W&B certification).
  • Preferred candidates with experience in EXCEL/LEAP.
  • Good understanding of FedEx products, services, and general operations, including loading/unloading procedures.
  • Physical ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Excellent human relations, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to pass R.C.M.P. assessment.
