About Us

McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.

The Role

In this role, you will:

• Operate Atlas Copco Raisebore drills (53R) and Cubex Scorpion drills (and all associated equipment).
• Co-ordinate set-up, teardown, and placements of Atlas Copco Raisebore Drills (53R) and Cubex Scorpion drills.
• Assist in the installation and removal of bits and reamers.
• Assist with Longhole stope blasting activities.
• Oversee training and safety of Raisebore personnel at second and third levels of progression.

Required:

• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Minimum of five years of relevant work experience as a Raisebore operator or Longhole drill operator in a mining environment
• Minimum of five years underground work experience
• Strong organizational, problem solving and communication skills
• Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft

Recommended:

• Experience in Longhole Drilling and Blasting
• Ability to obtain a Saskatchewan blasting certificate
• Ability to operate small pieces of equipment (Skid steer)

Rate per hour: $61.72

Preference will be given to qualified internal applicants and Residents of Saskatchewan’s North.
