This position is full-time, permanent, and based in the office.
Responsibilities
- Prepare estimates by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Read, understand, and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Examine drawings for conformity and errors.
- Identify the suitability and availability of materials.
- Provide accurate quantity takeoffs and estimates for assigned jobs.
- Quantify scope of work from plans and site conditions.
- Review site, specifications, drawings, scopes of work, and contracts to ensure all aspects are quoted.
- Prepare and submit cost and budget proposals with necessary documentation.
- Maintain and track historical pricing information to ensure pricing consistency.
- Establish reliable labor templates for new opportunities.
- Participate in specialist or multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Assist in the execution of existing projects as required within your area of expertise.
- Report activities to management as required.
- Research materials and costs, and secure contracts with suppliers as needed.
- Review and finalize proposals with directors or managers for client presentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3 years of direct experience in the construction field, particularly with rainscreen cladding, sheet metal, or exterior building envelope.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and administrative tasks.
- Graduation from an engineering, architectural, or construction management program is an asset.
- Experience with Procore, AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of local construction markets and building codes.
