Discovery Kidd in Canada invites applications for a Railroad Operator. The role is based on site and involves maintaining railroad tracks, inspecting routes, and coordinating with the Railway Supervisor on daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Be able to work shift rotations to meet business needs.
• Be physically fit; may undergo a physical demands assessment.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Handle track maintenance hand tools safely and effectively.
• Complete CAAT and DAT testing satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and tighten splice bars and other track maintenance duties.
• Gauge and line tracks and apply anchors; check for broken rails or abnormalities.
• Inspect and keep culverts and ditches clean.
• Observe passing trains; report defects promptly to Supervisor.
• Cut brush and maintain right of way cleanliness.
• Repair track geometry defects.
• Train and operate track maintenance machinery as required.
• Perform lockouts and flagging duties when required.
