Railcar Repair Supervisor
Sarnia, Ontario

PSC Group has an exciting new growth opportunity located in Ontario, Canada! This is an ideal opportunity for an individual seeking a Supervisor Railcar Repair role with a company that is growing tremendously and backed by a private equity firm. You will lead a team of dedicated railcar repair technicians to safely work around heavy equipment, railcars, and railroad tracks to coordinate and complete all railcar repairs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The overall expectation for this position is to lead our railcar repair group by ensuring safe, efficient, and productive operations in accordance with AAR, FRA, and company guidelines.
  • Reviews AAR Circular Letters, Maintenance Advisories, and Early Warning Letters, if applicable, have systems to communicate with all affected employees
  • Train, support and enforce all employees to meet company and customer safety policies
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and job briefings with mobile repair employees
  • Assist in scheduling jobs based upon employee’s experience
  • Facilitates customer, AAR and FRA compliance audits
  • Provides information and advice to senior management on matters relating to safe and quality repair operation
  • Participates in customer on site safety program
  • Collaborates with field employees and customers throughout the workday to identify and implement improvements / efficiencies
  • Seeks new business opportunities and works to expand these operations, as appropriate
  • Identifies future leaders and creates individual employee development plans
  • Performs annual performance evaluations with field employees
  • Leads, monitors and trains on railcar repairs
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Experience in a leadership role involving railcar repair operations, safety, and training
  • Knowledge and experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) or railcar repair
Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to build trust
  • Attentive and active listening skills
