Qualifications

• 3+ years of practical experience as Carman (railcar mechanic).
• Welding certification and air brake certification.
• Detail-oriented with a safety focus.
• Knowledge of rail car mechanical systems and related manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and repairs on rail cars.
• Adhere to deadlines and ensure repairs meet AAR and Transport Canada regulations.
• Administrative tasks such as accurate time keeping, repair schedules and job completion records.
• Assist in procurement of parts, equipment, and tools.
• Work with hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools; welding; cleaning of rail cars.
• Be knowledgeable about manuals, bulletins, and government regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
