Agency Employment Services 2019 Ltd. is seeking an Auto Handler in Scarborough, Ontario. The role involves safely loading, unloading, inspecting, securing, and moving vehicles within an automotive rail shipping facility.

You will operate vehicles on multi-level railcars, install bridge plates, document conditions, and support yard operations. This outdoor, physically demanding job requires standing, climbing, and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school education.
• Full G drivers licence with minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
• Clean drivers abstract with no suspensions and clear criminal record check.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of up to approximately 14 feet.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including winter temperatures.
• Ability to work rotating schedules, 6d7 7 days per week as required, including weekends and overtime.
• Must provide certified safety boots and wear required PPE, including safety vest, glasses, gloves, and fall protection as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Open, secure, and close railcar doors and install, reposition, and remove bridge plates between railcars.
• Inspect vehicles for damage, defects, and discrepancies before loading, unloading, or release, and record findings using handheld devices.
• Safely drive vehicles on and off multi-level railcars and position them correctly.
• Install and remove wheel chocks, locks, and vehicle restraints.
• Climb ladders, access railcar decks, and move between railcars using approved access methods and fall protection when required.
• Operate mobile loading ramps when trained and authorized.
• Shuttle vehicles within the yard or facility while maintaining awareness of pedestrians, equipment, and other vehicles.
• Work collaboratively with team members and spotters to ensure safe operations.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
• Perform general yard duties and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
