The Computed Tomography Technologist is involved in hands-on patient care. They manage room workflow and facilitate patient care in conjunction with the Computed Tomography Supervisor.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate Computed Tomography examinations for all patients under general supervision, following established procedures and protocols.
- Check for contrast allergies and contraindications for all patients.
- Verify the accuracy of protocols prior to exams.
- Adhere to policies and procedures for daily operations.
- Work with the Supervisor to maintain imaging standards.
- Participate in research and development of new exams and protocols.
- Enter charges accurately in EMR for all exams.
- Ensure high-quality exams are available for interpretation in a timely manner.
- Follow workflow plans and alert the supervisor to any issues.
- Recommend protocol changes to improve quality and patient care.
- Participate in the quality assurance plan for the CT program.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Perform equipment QC, temperature checks on contrast warmer and refrigerator.
- Maintain competency on injectors, POCT devices, etc.
- Communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure departmental efficiency and quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an approved Radiologic Sciences program; Massachusetts Department of Public Health licensure for Radiologic Technologist and CT required.
- ARRT registry in Radiologic Sciences and Computed Tomography required.
- BCLS certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience preferred.
- Adherence to I.C.A.R.E. Standards.
- Ability to multi-task and think proactively.
