Job description

The Computed Tomography Technologist is involved in hands-on patient care. They manage room workflow and facilitate patient care in conjunction with the Computed Tomography Supervisor.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Facilitate Computed Tomography examinations for all patients under general supervision, following established procedures and protocols.
  2. Check for contrast allergies and contraindications for all patients.
  3. Verify the accuracy of protocols prior to exams.
  4. Adhere to policies and procedures for daily operations.
  5. Work with the Supervisor to maintain imaging standards.
  6. Participate in research and development of new exams and protocols.
  7. Enter charges accurately in EMR for all exams.
  8. Ensure high-quality exams are available for interpretation in a timely manner.
  9. Follow workflow plans and alert the supervisor to any issues.
  10. Recommend protocol changes to improve quality and patient care.
  11. Participate in the quality assurance plan for the CT program.
  12. Monitor equipment performance and coordinate repairs as needed.
  13. Perform equipment QC, temperature checks on contrast warmer and refrigerator.
  14. Maintain competency on injectors, POCT devices, etc.
  15. Communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and other departments.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure departmental efficiency and quality patient care.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved Radiologic Sciences program; Massachusetts Department of Public Health licensure for Radiologic Technologist and CT required.
  • ARRT registry in Radiologic Sciences and Computed Tomography required.
  • BCLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 1 year clinical experience preferred.
  • Adherence to I.C.A.R.E. Standards.
  • Ability to multi-task and think proactively.
