Job description

The Island Health Department of Medical Imaging is seeking a full-time General Radiologist for the North Island hospitals in Comox Valley and Campbell River.

These facilities opened in the fall of [year], and medical imaging services at both hospitals include: general x-ray, two fixed MRI units, on-site CT, fluoroscopy, mammography, ultrasound, and interventional procedures, all within a fully functional PACS environment. Additionally, the Comox Valley Hospital offers nuclear medicine services.

Eligible candidates must hold Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Radiology and full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.

The position involves performing CT, MRI, ultrasound, digital radiography, fluoroscopy procedures, breast imaging, and basic non-vascular interventional procedures. Successful candidates may choose to reside in either Campbell River or Comox.

Start date: as soon as possible

Candidates may be eligible for additional remuneration according to the Rural Subsidy Agreement (RSA), including:

  1. Recruitment Incentive: up to a maximum of $10,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)
  2. Relocation: up to a maximum of $15,000 (amount based on the location relocating from)
  3. Fee Premium: 6.93%
  4. Annual Flat Fee: $10,052
  5. CME payments of $ in years 3 and 4, and $ thereafter.
