About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, The Radiological Technologist is responsible for the delivery of patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative. The Radiological Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation, applying the ALARA principle, while continuously remaining responsive to and responsible for each patient in their care. The Radiological Technologist is responsible for effective communication in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment while fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.

Multi-Site - This position is based out of Valley Regional Hospital but may be scheduled to work out of the Eastern Kings Memorial Community Health Centre and the Western Kings Memorial Health Centre.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working independently and under minimal supervision
  • Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational and prioritizing skills; and the ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams
  • Comprehension of the technical language in order to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Approximately 12 months
  • Shift work required, evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Stand by coverage may be required
Compensation and Incentives

$33.20 - $41.44 hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
