Salary: CAD $38.08 - $47.55 per hour

Job Summary

We are hiring for a Part Time Radiological Technologist, CT/General Procedures at Burnaby Hospital. This role is part of Fraser Health Authority, a rapidly growing organization dedicated to excellent patient care and planetary health.

Education, Training and Experience
  • Certification with the CAMRT.
  • Completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography.
  • One (1) year recent, related experience in radiology procedures, including supervisory experience.
  • Completion of an Intravenous Therapy training course when required by site practice.
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification – Basic Life Support (BCLS) level.

Responsibilities
  • Perform CT examinations following established procedures, including requisition completion, patient positioning, venipuncture for contrast media injections, and equipment operation.
  • Monitor patients during procedures, respond to potential contrast media reactions or emergent situations, and perform CPR if required.
  • Conduct radiography exams, ensuring proper patient identification, image acquisition, and requisition compliance.
  • Facilitate workflow by verifying requisition accuracy and coordinating with departmental porters.
  • Execute quality control duties, schedule and perform equipment tests, record results, and report malfunctioning equipment.
  • Maintain the work area by cleaning equipment, setting up examination trays, stocking supplies, and notifying supervisors of shortages.
  • Demonstrate equipment procedures to staff, supervise students, and assist with new employee orientation.
  • Respond to inquiries from other clinical areas and refer concerns to appropriate supervisors.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety rules, including Fire, Disaster, WHMIS, Smart Moves, and Infection Control protocols.
  • Participate in departmental program enhancements, quality improvement initiatives, and hospital committees representing Medical Imaging.
  • Engage in approved research and special projects with supervisors and health care professionals.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance, reporting unsafe situations promptly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
  • Certification with the CAMRT.
  • Completion of an advanced specialty program in Computed Tomography.
  • One year recent and related experience in radiology procedures or an equivalent combination.
  • Completion of an Intravenous Therapy training course when required by site practice.
  • CPR certification – Basic Life Support (BCLS) level.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of CAMRT standards, evidence‑based practice, and modality guidelines.
  • Understanding of organization policies, procedures and safe work practices with imaging equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of General Radiography and CT theory within a client/family centered model.
  • Proficiency in safe work procedures with medical imaging equipment.
  • Familiarity with research processes and methodology.
  • Proficiency in PACS/Radiology Information Systems.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and guide others.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Skill in workload prioritization and planning.
  • CPR technique proficiency.
  • Computer skills across current applications.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
