The salary range for this position is CAD $38.08 - $47.55 / hour

Detailed Overview

Reporting to the Site Coordinator, Medical Imaging, the Radiological Technologist practices in accordance with professional standards, utilizing a client and family-centered care model aligned with Fraser Health’s vision and values.

The role involves performing special procedures in CT and radiography, ensuring safety and quality standards, managing patient care during procedures, supervising staff, participating in quality improvement, and maintaining equipment and records.

Responsibilities
  • Perform CT and radiographic examinations following departmental procedures, including patient preparation, equipment operation, and data management.
  • Monitor patients during procedures for reactions or emergencies and respond appropriately.
  • Operate imaging equipment, ensure proper labeling and documentation, and report equipment issues.
  • Facilitate departmental workflow, manage schedules, and oversee staff activities as needed.
  • Participate in staffing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct quality control tests and participate in quality assurance programs.
  • Maintain the work environment, including cleaning and stocking supplies.
  • Assist in training staff, students, and residents on procedures and equipment use.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, and respond to inquiries from clinical areas.
  • Develop workload metrics and participate in departmental planning and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure safety regulations are followed and participate in safety training and audits.
  • Contribute to equipment procurement, research projects, and departmental committees.
  • Monitor and coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Promote a safe and healthy workplace, report unsafe conditions, and enforce safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience
Certification with CAMRT, completion of an advanced CT specialty program, and at least one year of recent, related experience, including supervisory experience. Additional requirements include IV therapy training and CPR (BCLS).

Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of professional standards, evidence-based practice, departmental policies, current radiography and CT theory, PACS/radiology information systems, and safety procedures. Ability to develop protocols, communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, work independently and collaboratively, plan workloads, and demonstrate proficiency in CT techniques and computer applications. Physical ability to perform duties is also required.
