Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $36.69/Hr. - CAD $45.81/Hr.

Come work as a Radiological Technologist 2 with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)! Staff housing may be available. Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Radiological Technologist 2 to join the Medical Imaging team at Heiltsuk Hospital in Bella Bella, BC. Apply today to join our team!

As a Radiological Technologist 2 with VCH you will:

  • Work without general supervision, i.e. having no practical access to a Clinical Supervisor in own discipline for the majority of designated shift,
  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with departmental policies and procedures, observing safe radiation protection practices.
  • Receive and complete requisitions, enter relevant data into the radiology information system, prepare patients for examination, monitor patients during procedures, operate radiographic equipment including processing radiographs and maintaining cleanliness of examination rooms.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Certification with the CAMRT.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with radiology equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform radiographic examinations in compliance with departmental standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability in CPR techniques.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Basic computer literacy to operate a computerized patient care information system.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check. As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.
