Job Overview:

To provide a specialized image of a body part for purposes of medical interpretation.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • ARRT Certification in Radiation Technology required.
  • NJ radiology license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of radiology technician experience strongly preferred.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for:

  • Providing radiographic images or positioning fluoroscopic equipment, as instructed.
  • Minimization of radiation exposure.
  • Ensuring patient comfort.
  • Selection and preparation of any contrast media used in conjunction with radiographic examinations as well as special examinations.
  • Processing radiographic images going to PACS.
  • Patient identification and indication of correct body part on all radiographic images.
  • Processing x-ray requests.
  • Assists in instruction of student technologists.
  • Is able to demonstrate the technical art to student radiographers.
