About the Role

Weir Marine Engineering (WME), managing the Naval Engineering Test Establishment (NETE), is seeking a Radio Frequency (RF) Communications Specialist. This role involves conducting requirements analysis, investigating technical options, and providing expertise to support the Canadian Armed Forces High Frequency Low Frequency Radio Capability (HFLFRC) project and other modernization initiatives. The project aims to modernize NORAD capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support investigations into future communication technologies supporting national and allied HF/LF/VLF communications.
  • Provide technical expertise on RF transmitters, receivers, and antenna systems.
  • Assist in developing communication system architecture and topology.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and zero harm culture.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of antenna theory, RF propagation, and antenna design/testing.
  • Experience with VLF/LF/MF/HF transmitters, receivers, and antennas.
  • Proficiency in RF tools, software, and system diagrams.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Support experience with the Royal Canadian Navy is a plus.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Canadian citizenship and residency in Canada for 10+ years, with no extended absences, to obtain security clearance.
