Job description

Your Opportunity:

The Central Alberta Cancer Centre, located in Red Deer, is looking for a Radiation Therapist to come in and join our team to help us to continue to provide safe, efficient, and effective radiation treatment to the people of Central Alberta. Our Cancer Centre currently utilizes two Varian TrueBeams with room for expansion as well as a Phillips Big-Bore CT-Sim. In addition to treating the four main tumor groups, our team has initiated and developed a very robust and expanding SBRT program. Our therapists also have the opportunity to expand on their treatment planning skills by utilizing Eclipse planning software.

Description:

As a Radiation Therapist I, you will deliver a prescribed course of radiation treatment to patients and assist in the efficient, safe and accurate planning of patient's care during simulation and/or planning procedures according to the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. You will assess each patient's reactions to treatment, document treatment plans, and maintain patient records. Additionally, you will educate patients about treatment procedures, side effects, and appropriate management strategies to mitigate the side effects of treatment, making referrals to other health professionals as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or accredited non-Canadian program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS). Must be able to perform all duties of the job including lifting and moving.
