Job summary

Health PEI in Charlottetown is seeking a Radiation Therapist to join an interdisciplinary team. You will provide radiation therapy to oncology patients with a patient-centered focus and participate in treatment planning and QA processes.

The role involves CT simulation, preparation of treatment accessories, and operation of Linear Accelerator equipment, with a strong emphasis on patient education and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Radiation Therapy or BSc in Radiation Science with a Radiation Therapy diploma.
• Must be registered with CAMRT and PEIAMRT.
• Excellent communication and ability to work both independently and with others.
• Good previous work and attendance record.

Job description

Radiation Therapists are a part of an interdisciplinary health care team that provides radiation therapy to oncology patients. This patient-focused position requires both a positive attitude and a high degree of dedication to team work.

Job duties based upon a rotation may include:

• CT Simulation;
• Preparation of treatment accessories;
• Participation in treatment planning process;
• Treatment delivery according to the radiation oncologist's prescription;
• Utilization of Linear Accelerator equipment;
• Delivery of Patient education as related to the radiation treatment;
• Participating in all aspects of the department's quality assurance program;
• Other duties as related.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a diploma in Radiation Therapy from a recognized/accredited radiation therapy program or Bachelor of Science in Radiation Science with a diploma of Health Sciences in Radiation Therapy;
• Must be registered with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and the Prince Edward Island Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (PEIAMRT);
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and cooperatively with others are required;
• The successful applicant must have a good previous work and attendance record.

Other Qualifications:

• Preference may be given to candidates with previous experience;
• Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.

Salary Range: $46.28 - $54.48 per hour

Bi-Weekly Hours: 75 Hours Bi-Weekly / Monday – Friday / Days.
