The Role

MDA is currently seeking a RADARSAT Acquisition Planner (AP) / Customer Service Representative (CSR), located in Halifax NS. The position provides support to the DND / CAF for the DND Polar Epsilon and Polar Epsilon 2 programs. This person will be involved in activities associated with planning RS2 and RCM data acquisitions and interacting with the customer and MDA GSI. The AP / CSR uses the RS2 and RCM Order handling Systems to specify new imaging activities, and submits orders to the RS2 / RCM Order Desks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports the Regional Joint Operation Center Atlantic (RJOCA) and DND / CAF with RS2 and RCM satellite data acquisitions in support of Marine Domain Awareness using the RS2 and RCM OHSs.
  • Maintain the master tracking planner for all acquisitions from planning to delivery
  • Prepare and send the Weekly Acquisition Processing Report to Aldergrove and DND / CAF clients
  • Prepare and input RS2 acquisitions into the Contact Production Archiving System
  • Assist with maintaining the incoming requests and plan missions as required;
  • Act as a RADARSAT Subject Matter Expert when attending meetings
  • Respond to client / CSA queries as required
  • Any duties or tasks that the Station Manager might request as required

Job Requirements

  • The AP / CSR must have a combination of experience and education in GIS / Geomatics and or equivalent relevant operational experience in the use of Space-Based Radar and other satellite systems in support of Marine Domain Awareness.
  • Excellent understanding of military operations and command and control, with an emphasis on maritime Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR).
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to be a team player and yet work unsupervised
  • Familiar with using Microsoft and other software applications or web-based tools
  • Experience in Collection management and reporting
  • Additional years and broader experience in the mandatory categories
  • Experience working with military systems used in support of ISR
  • Good written and oral skills
  • Ability to master new computer software applications
  • Knowledge and experience using software tools for remote sensing product order management

Comments / Special Considerations

  • Candidate must hold or be eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher
