Job summary

Lactalis Canada, Canada's leading dairy company, seeks a Product Development Intern for the Ingleside Plant. You will support R&D activities, run bench-top experiments, document formulations, and help ensure quality across projects.

This role offers hands-on experience in product development within a dynamic team. Ideal candidates are pursuing post-secondary studies in food science or related fields, with strong analytical and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a post-secondary education in Food Science or Dairy, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field of study.
• Strong knowledge in food or dairy science and/or chemistry, microbiology, engineering.
• Microsoft Excel skills are an asset.
• Strong written/oral interpersonal and communication skills.

• Support in execution of laboratory and production experiments for new products and renovations.
• Conduct bench-top experiments and analysis to support processing and formulation at full-scale manufacturing.
• Prepare and document raw ingredients and formulations specifications.

Job Purpose The Product Development Intern will be a member of the R&D Team. They will provide technical and analytical support to the R&D product development team members.

Location Ingleside Plant

Responsibility

• Support in the execution of required laboratory and/or production experiments in the development of new products and/or product renovations and, conducting experiments and support sampling plan.
• Conduct bench-top experiments and/or analysis to support processing and formula commissioning at full-scale manufacturing, which includes scale-up of prototypes and subsequent trials to support introduction of new products and /or product renovations.
• Prepare and document raw ingredients and formulations specifications for the purpose of maintaining accurate records and to ensure compliance with Company standards.
• Responsible to ensure Quality is fundamental in execution of all work activities

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a post-secondary education in Food Science or Dairy, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field of study.
• Strong knowledge in the discipline of food or dairy science and/or chemistry, microbiology, engineering
• Microsoft excel skills an asset Strong written/oral interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external sources
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively handle multiple projects and the assignments of priorities within the defined project area
• Creative problem solving and analytical skills
• Open minded and able to collaborate effectively with different team members.

Compensation As part of our commitment to fairness, trust, and transparency and our ambition to be an Employer of Choice, the base salary range for this position is: $21.00 - $24.00 . Please note: Along with a comprehensive Total Rewards package, your actual base salary will be fair, competitive, and be based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
