Lactalis Canada is seeking a Product Development Intern to join the R&D team at the Ingleside Plant. You will provide technical and analytical support for product development and renovations, executing experiments, and documenting formulations.

Location: Ingleside Plant. You will be pursuing post-secondary studies in food science or related fields, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to quality-focused processes while exploring future full-time opportunities.

• Pursuing post-secondary education in food science, dairy, chemistry, microbiology or related field.
• Strong knowledge in food/dairy science, chemistry, microbiology or engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to collaborate.
• Organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects.

Job Purpose

The Product Development Intern will be a member of the R&D Team. They will provide technical and analytical support to the R&D product development team members.

Location : Ingleside Plant

Responsibility

• Support in the execution of required laboratory and/or production experiments in the development of new products and/or product renovations and, conducting experiments and support sampling plan.
• Conduct bench‑top experiments and/or analysis to support processing and formula commissioning at full‑scale manufacturing, which includes scale‑up of prototypes and subsequent trials to support introduction of new products and /or product renovations.
• Prepare and document raw ingredients and formulations specifications for the purpose of maintaining accurate records and to ensure compliance with Company standards.
• Responsible to ensure Quality is fundamental in execution of all work activities

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a post‑secondary education in Food Science or Dairy, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field of study.
• Strong knowledge in the discipline of food or dairy science and/or chemistry, microbiology, engineering
• Microsoft excel skills an asset Strong written/oral interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external sources
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively handle multiple projects and the assignments of priorities within the defined project area
• Creative problem solving and analytical skills
• Open minded and able to collaborate effectively with different team members.

Compensation:

As part of our commitment to fairness, trust, and transparency and our ambition to be an Employer of Choice, the base salary range for this position is: $21.00 – $24.00 .

Please note: Along with a comprehensive Total Rewards package, your actual base salary will be fair, competitive, and be based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
