SUMMARY

The R&D Engineer II contributes to the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
  2. Understands and employs best practices.
  3. Performs moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions.
  4. Understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
  5. Works under the general supervision of a development manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years’ experience or MS.
  2. Working experience with CFD methodology and code development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related field.
  2. Technical knowledge and experience with CFD methodology; for example, solution algorithms, numerical methods, moving-deforming mesh, solution adaptation, overset grids etc.
  3. Technical knowledge and commercial experience with C, C++, object-oriented design, HPC, GPU, data structures, and algorithms.
  4. Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment.
  5. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team.
