We are looking for mechanical engineers and physicists to join our R&D team full-time, to contribute to the design and development of our central plant control technology. You will be part of a high-performing team of multi-disciplinary experts creating leading-edge control software and integrating these control algorithms into our existing code base.

  • Become the subject matter expert in assigned aspects of control software for central heating and cooling plants.
  • Monitor and leverage relevant industry, government and academic research and technology developments in areas such as predictive control, mathematical modeling & optimization, HVAC and energy storage optimization.
  • Develop software to implement mathematical optimization strategies for central plants.
  • Develop robust models of HVAC and Energy Storage devices and systems.
  • Plan, design and run lab experiments to test and validate those models and optimization strategies.
  • Project Support: Assist with planning and execution of production deployments of control software and systems.
  • Monitor production systems: ensure that production systems are delivering strong value to customers, identify subpar operation or blind spots in product operation, and recommend improvements.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of heating and cooling plant systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and documentation for clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the knowledge base of the company: share knowledge with team members.
  • Collaborate with other team members specializing in simulation, modeling, development, etc.
  • Contribute to product vision and roadmap.

QUALIFICATION, YOU HAVE:

  • A thorough knowledge of chilled water plant/heating plant design and operations.
  • A B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Physics or Mechanical Engineering.
  • A solid background in thermodynamics, mathematical optimization and statistics.
  • Proficiency in Python and Git and ability to learn new languages and frameworks as needed.
