Job summary

Bourgault Industries in St. Brieux, Saskatchewan, is seeking a motivated engineering student to join the R&D Engineering team for hands-on development of seeding and tillage equipment.

You will use SolidWorks to model components, perform design analysis, and assist with prototypes and field tests. Ideal candidates are pursuing an engineering degree (mechanical preferred) with SolidWorks experience and an interest in farming technology.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an engineering program (mechanical preferred).
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Experience with structural analysis using FEA is an asset.
• Hands-on, self-directed with strong analytical skills.

Bourgault is looking for a motivated engineering student with a passion for agriculture to join our R&D Engineering team in St. Brieux!

Responsibilities

• Use SolidWorks to develop computer models of new product components or modify existing products/components
• Conduct design analysis and refinement.
• Communicate with vendors to specify and obtain outsourced components.
• Assist with prototype assembly and field testing.
• Communicate with other teams (purchasing, manufacturing, service, etc.) to ensure successful product change integration.
• Occasional travel to various field test locations.

Required Skills/Experience

• Currently enrolled in an engineering program (mechanical preferred)
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
• Experience doing structural analysis with FEA software is an asset
• Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• High level of analytical thought and creativity
• A strong knowledge of and interest in current farming practices and related technology is an asset
• Enjoy working in a hands-on environment that supports being self-directed!
