JOB PURPOSE:

The Quote Analyst supports the Quoting function by developing accurate, timely, and competitive cost quotations for potential and existing customers. The role involves collaborating with engineering, supply chain, finance, and production teams to analyze customer requirements, BOMs, and manufacturing processes, preparing comprehensive quotes for PCB assembly, box build, and other electronics manufacturing services. The analyst ensures all stakeholders are updated on quoting activities.

NATURE OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Input data and manage the quoting analysis database.
  • Analyze customer RFQs, including BOMs, assembly drawings, CAD/Gerber files, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to estimate labor, machine usage, NREs, and process costs.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns covering materials, labor, overhead, tooling, testing, and margins.
  • Maintain quote documentation, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct 'should-cost' analyses to benchmark and validate cost assumptions.
  • Assist in quote reviews and support business development with pricing strategies.
  • Assemble quoting letters and documentation.
  • Monitor ECO costs, margins, and summarize statuses for relevant groups.
  • Extract BOMs, provide costing breakdowns, and work with supply chain to source and cost materials.
  • Generate reports or analyses on quote details as required by management.
  • Ensure activities are completed on time within budget and flag any delays.
  • Update quoting tools and templates to reflect latest standards and cost models.
  • Send RFQs to suppliers to gather quotations for customer proposals.
  • Resolve part number issues with suppliers and gather relevant information for quotes. Escalate issues between sales and customers as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement of the quoting process, including automation and system enhancements.
  • Interface with Plant Management, Account teams, and Customers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, with at least 2 years’ relevant experience, preferably in EMS or electronics industry.
  • Proficient in Excel and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documents.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
