A university organization is seeking an Editor-in-Chief for the Queen's Journal of Ethnic and Racial Studies. The role involves managing the journal team, encouraging discussions on ethnic and racial matters, and overseeing finances and content submissions. Candidates must include a self-identifying student of colour in their application. The position has a time commitment of 5 hours per week for a 12-month term from May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025.
The Queen’s Journal of Ethnic and Racial Studies aims to give students a chance to engage in topics related to existing institutional systems of oppression and racial advocacy that will help enhance their academic perspectives.
The Editors-in-Chief must be able to effectively manage other members of the Journal and be responsible for day-to-day management and administration tasks. They will encourage critical discussion of ethnic and racial affairs and will be responsible for overseeing finances, promotion of the journal, content submissions, and communicating with external stakeholders and consultative bodies.
12-month term from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025 with a time commitment of 5 hours/week.
The Queen's Journal of Ethnic and Racial Studies (QJERS) aims to foster conversations relating to settler colonialism, systems of oppression that communities of colour face, and explore the field of intersectionality in relation to race.
