Job summary

Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. is seeking a Development Manager to support utility-scale solar and wind development in Quebec. You will drive early-stage to handover activities, work with cross-functional teams across multiple offices and time zones, and manage project budgets.

The role requires 5–7 years in development, a relevant degree, and strong communication skills. The position is based in Longueuil, with a hybrid work model and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years' experience developing utility-scale wind, hydro and/or solar projects.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience developing projects within Quebec markets.
• Experience working with Indigenous groups or partners; asset.
• Experience relating to partnership management and contract negotiations.
• Experience coordinating studies and development activities with cross-functional resources and outside consultants.
• Knowledge of project contracts: PPA, interconnection, turbine/equipment, partnerships and O&M; asset.
• Experience driving development processes, timelines and stakeholder coordination.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience navigating local government processes.
• GIS software proficiency.
• Bilingualism in French and English (written/spoken) for cross-stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new development opportunities (greenfield, early, mid-stage acquisitions).
• Lead Indigenous partnerships and support ongoing relationship building.
• Collaborate with development teams, internal specialists and outside consultants on land, studies, permitting, interconnection, regulatory, legal, engineering and financial modeling.
• Maintain and coordinate development activities and timelines.
• Evaluate and make recommendations on project viability and economics.
• Manage project expenditures and budgets; prepare documentation for senior management approval.
• Report development status to management and participate in weekly meetings.
• Support handover to construction and assist Engineering and Construction teams during construction.
• Assist Finance and Legal during interactions with third parties to ensure favorable terms.
• Lead or assist negotiations of commercial agreements to maximize value.
