Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, Niagara Region, the Scale House Operator is responsible for accurately weighing and ticketing trucks entering and exiting the quarry. You will be the first point of contact for many of our customers and haulers, helping ensure smooth and efficient operations at the scale house while delivering a high level of service and professionalism.

What You'll Be Doing :

  • Accurately weigh and document trucks entering and leaving the quarry to ensure compliance with load and safety regulations.
  • Respond to customer inquiries related to products, materials, and orders, referring to Sales as needed.
  • Handle basic customer complaints, document concerns, and forward them appropriately for resolution.
  • Process payments (credit card) and maintain organized records of orders and receipts.
  • Open and close the scale house, ensuring that systems such as computers and security are functioning properly.
  • Maintain communication with team members via CB radio and with external contacts via phone and email.

Here's What You Need :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or relevant experience preferred.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Flexibility to work at various locations across the Niagara Region with shifts between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems for data entry and generating reports.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across multiple formats (in-person, phone, email).
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage payment processing.
  • Professional, courteous, and tactful in daily interactions.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working with diverse teams and changing priorities.
  • Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
