Job summary

Amrize Canada Inc. is hiring a Quarry Labourer to maintain conveyors, crushers, screens and other mobile equipment on day-to-day projects across North America. The role requires shift work, safety compliance and travel with the portable plant as needed.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma, a valid driver’s license and experience in quarry operations or heavy equipment. Training in First Aid, WHMIS and related safety programs is valued.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Valid Driver’s license required.
  • Quarry plant operation/maintenance experience is an asset.
  • Heavy equipment operation experience is an asset.
  • First Aid, WHMIS, Surface Miner training, Confined space training, Working-at-heights training, Mechanical aptitude / extensive manual labor tasks, Specific mobile equipment training.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain conveyors, crushers, screens, and related mobile equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and provincial safety legislation.
  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on schedule.
  • Assist with site housekeeping and operational tasks.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a member of the Portable crushing team, the Labourer position will execute the daily tasks required to maintain the conveyors, crushers, screens, and related mobile equipment in accordance with Amrize’s Best Practices and Policies . The incumbent will implement internal processes and controls to drive maintenance efficiency and cost optimization while ensuring worker/contractor safety through compliance with Amrize and Provincial Safety legislation, policies and procedures . This position requires shift work (Days/Afternoons/Nights) and occasional weekend work . Travel with the portable plant as required.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Ensure that site meets or exceeds all Amrize and Regulatory guidelines .
  • Report and manage environmental spills to site management as they occur .
  • Ensure equipment is operated to original equipment manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices .
  • Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections regarding preventative maintenance actions are scheduled and completed .
  • Perform adjustments and clean up on equipment to ensure equipment runs efficiently .
  • Perform repair on equipment as required .
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the site .
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks to ensure the site is presentable .
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas . Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours .
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Required Work Experience: Quarry plant operation/maintenance experience is an asset
  • Heavy equipment operation experience is an asset
  • Required Technical Skills: First Aid, WHMIS, Surface Miner training, Confined space training, Working-at-heights training, Mechanical aptitude / extensive manual labor tasks, Specific mobile equipment training
  • Travel Requirements: Required as plant moves
Additional Requirements:

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators . Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests .
