Job summary

Photonic Inc. is hiring a Test Engineer in British Columbia to develop cryogenic and room-temperature test plans for quantum emitters embedded in photonic circuits. You will design automated measurement sequences, document procedures, and collaborate with Device Engineering to define test stations and acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in physics or related field with strong experimental background.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with photonic or quantum devices.
• Experience with integrated photonics, optics, and cryogenic testing.
• Proficient in automated test/data acquisition scripting (e.g., Python).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement high-throughput test plans for photonic circuits—cryogenic and room temperature.
• Plan new measurement concepts to validate and improve quantum emitter performance.
• Design and optimize measurement sequences to maximize throughput.
• Document test procedures and develop standard operating procedures.
• Define test stations integrating temperature-controlled environments with optics/electrical subsystems.
• Specify automation needs to improve test station productivity and repeatability.
• Communicate with cross-disciplinary teams to translate complex problems into tasks.
• Execute cryogenic tests and generate analysis scripts to meet chip goals.
• Characterize test station performance and repeatability.
