Role: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Galway, Ireland

This leading M&E contractor has built a reputation over the last 45+ years for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical services across a wide range of sectors. From industrial and logistics to healthcare, data centres, commercial builds, and high-end residential, they’ve successfully delivered major projects across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe.

Due to growth, they are looking to bring on a Quantity Surveyor

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take ownership of the commercial aspects of M&E projects from handover through to final account sign-off. You’ll work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that costs are monitored, managed, and reported accurately in line with project timelines.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and tracking internal and external costs across multiple projects
  • Reviewing contract documents and tender information/BOQs
  • Preparing cost plans and highlighting any financial risks or issues
  • Procuring supplier and subcontractor packages
  • Submitting monthly interim valuations and variations to the client
  • Managing subcontract documentation and reviewing all contractual warranties
  • Monitoring project labour hours using Donseed (where applicable)
  • Auditing subcontractor applications and preparing pay-less notices as needed
  • Uploading subcontractor variations to the ERP system and carrying out monthly audits
  • Reviewing project programmes to flag delays or disruptions
  • Attending internal and external commercial meetings
  • Maintaining document control systems and ensuring SOP compliance

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the M&E/building services sector
  • A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • Strong understanding of tendering, procurement, and construction processes
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with solid negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable using ERP and document management systems
