We are seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join our Power Flow team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-performance group that thrives on solving complex problems with cutting-edge techniques in applied mathematics, statistics, optimization, and machine learning.

About the Power Flow Team:

Our team comprises passionate scientists, engineers, and mathematicians dedicated to advancing state-of-the-art methods in energy market analysis. We work with an extensive database of clean data, addressing challenging problems that are ideal for algorithmic trading strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and analyze large power market datasets to extract insights on key fundamentals such as supply, demand, pricing, and grid congestion across the U.S. power grid.
  • Develop and maintain predictive models for congestion and pricing trends, supporting data-driven trading strategies.
  • Execute, refine, and optimize power flow models, ensuring data accuracy and model reliability for real-time market applications.
  • Automate data processing, reporting, and analytical workflows using SQL and Python to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Support senior Power Model Analysts by implementing and running model updates, executing analysis, and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Continuously enhance data pipelines to improve the speed and accuracy of market forecasts and trading signals.
  • Stay up to date with power market trends and leverage new data sources, methodologies, and technologies to improve forecasting and analysis.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Finance, etc.).
  • 2+ years of experience with analysis of large datasets.
  • Power Market experience (an asset).
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Experience with agile software principles (an asset).
  • Knowledge of machine learning and advanced statistical regression techniques (an asset).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
