The Opportunity

This role reports to the Head of Research Lab within the Business Technology department. The Quantitative Engineer will focus on AI-driven automation, scalable data infrastructure, and supporting traders, portfolio managers, and research teams. The environment is fast-paced and agile, emphasizing rapid experimentation and problem-solving.

Role Responsibilities

• Build and deploy LLM-based tools and AI agents (e.g., OpenAI, LangChain, AutoGPT)
• Own tool development from prototyping to production with feedback from investment teams
• Develop and optimize data pipelines and APIs supporting research, trading, and risk workflows
• Act as a technical partner to portfolio managers, analysts, and traders
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and developers to deliver robust solutions
• Monitor, refine, and scale systems for reliability and responsiveness

Desired Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, quantitative systems, or investment technology
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; cloud experience (Azure preferred)
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, API frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, dbt, Airflow)
• Familiarity with financial data providers (Bloomberg, FactSet, MSCI, Capital IQ)
• Interest or experience with AI agent frameworks (LangChain, OpenAI, AutoGPT) and LLM tools
• Bonus: experience with vector search, RAG pipelines, ML infrastructure
• Progress toward CFA or supporting investment professionals is an asset
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and in teams
