Job summary

Sibelco in Saint-Paul, NB is seeking a quality-focused individual to support the plant QC program. You will assist with the Quality system, perform checks, document results and help maintain compliance with procedures.

You will collaborate with maintenance and line staff, analyze data, and participate in quality meetings to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Quality Improvement Process knowledge.
  • Core competencies in Quality Control, Testing, and Auditing.
  • Ability to read and understand Procedures and Test Methods.
  • Capable of operating quality equipment and measuring devices.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and lead others as needed.
  • Color vision and data entry skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel and Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in utilizing the Sibelco Quality system at Sibelco facility.
  • Lead in ensuring that products and services meet or exceed customer specifications.
  • Perform plant quality checks per Sibelco’s Quality Procedures.
  • Track quality performance, identify problem areas, take actions to contain deficient material from leaving the facility and undertake others to improve.
  • Assist with plant quality meetings and training of plant employees.
  • Update and maintain Quality records on a computer; analyze data and produce reports.
  • Observe Production Line Workers’ actions to ensure sampling and testing are done correctly.
  • Perform and document in-process cullet sampling per SOP.
  • Conduct and document incoming and outgoing load inspections.
  • Work with maintenance to optimize equipment for product quality.
  • Wear site PPE and adhere to safety policies.
  • Cross-trained in other plant roles as needed.

Your Impact in This Role
  • Assist in utilizing the Sibelco Quality system at Sibelco facility.

  • Work with the maintenance personnel to ensure equipment operates efficiently to optimize product quality.
  • Wear appropriate site-specific personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.
  • Understand and adhere to all company operating procedures and company safety policies.
  • Cross-trained in other plant positions, as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • . Quality Improvement Process knowledge.

  • Capable of operating quality equipment (inspection tables, ovens, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently, with little supervision.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Color vision.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Capable of using a calculator and laboratory scales and competency with interpreting numbers.
  • Basic computer operation skills (experience with Excel and Outlook).
  • Any other related duties, as assigned by their supervisor
