Job summary

Village Farms International is seeking a Manager, Quality Systems to drive the ongoing development and improvement of the QMS across Canadian sites. You will work cross-functionally to ensure GMP/GPP and Cannabis Act compliance, lead a two-person QA team, and guide eQMS implementation to standardize processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related discipline is required.
• 5+ years of QA experience in cannabis, pharmaceutical, food, or an equivalent regulated industry.
• 3+ years in a QMS ownership, lead, or people management capacity.
• Regulatory & GxP knowledge – experience with EUGMP, GPP and Cannabis Act/Regulations.
• Health Canada security clearance is an asset (QAP/AQAP status).
• Quality systems expertise: document control, change control, CAPA, deviation management, training, risk management, self-inspection, and audit management.
• Experience with electronic quality management systems (eQMS) and ERP integrations.
• Validation and qualification knowledge for computer systems and equipment/process.
• Data analysis, trend identification, KPI reporting, and executive communication.
• People leadership and coaching in a regulated, fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office and quality databases.

Responsibilities

• Own the controlled document lifecycle for SOPs and quality records; manage reviews and archival.
• Lead change control processes with weekly meetings and escalation of stalled items.
• Ensure data integrity, access controls, and electronic signatures compliance.
• Maintain QMS policies, SOPs, and standards in line with regulations.
• Analyze deviations, CAPA, and audit findings to identify trends.
• Develop quality metrics and KPI dashboards for leadership reporting.
• Support complaint intake, triage, and CAPA closure.
• Lead eQMS implementation and system integration across sites.
• Mentor and manage the quality systems team and build capability.
