Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking two full-time Coordinators at the L09 level to join our Quality Improvement and Risk Management team. The positions are currently classified with a wage range of $49.73–$66.42 per hour, subject to ongoing review under PSAC bargaining terms.

Reporting to the Manager, Quality Improvement and Risk Management, the Coordinator is responsible for supporting a high level of quality in all hospital programs and services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health-related field; 2-3 years in healthcare, quality improvement or patient experience.
  • Experience working with patients, families and caregivers is required.
  • Equivalent education, training and experience may be considered; bilingual English/French an asset.

2 x Full Time Positions - (2.0 FTE)

This position is currently classified at the L09 level, with an hourly pay range of $49.73–$66.42. The classification and wage range are currently under review and are subject to change.

(PSAC Bargaining Unit)

Reporting to the Manager, Quality Improvement and Risk Management, the Coordinator, is responsible for supporting a high level of quality in all hospital programs and services. This involves the implementation and evaluation of programs, services, processes, policies and projects that improve quality, mitigate risk, promote client-centered service, and ensure equity, using a continuous improvement approach. The position facilitates knowledge sharing and learning to ensure compliance with best practice, legislation and regulations, corporate policies and procedures, patient safety standards and others.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong knowledge of program development and project management methods, techniques and quality improvement and assurance processes
  • Strong knowledge of patient, family, and caregiver engagement principles and methods for meaningful, sustained engagement with the organization
  • Understanding of integrated quality improvement and risk management, including best practices, policies and procedures, standards and legislation/regulations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Indigenous Peoples history, culture, communities and an understanding of First Nations peoples experiences within the healthcare system
  • Knowledge of the hospital or healthcare settings specifically professional standards and clinical operations
  • Knowledge of policy development and learning practices, tools and techniques
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills specifically in ambiguous and uncertain circumstances
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Outstanding communication (verbal and written), facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of people and job functions at all levels inside and outside the organization
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with ability to quickly learn new systems and skills as needed
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt the approach for specific situations
  • Ability to gather, analyze and report program information and data
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with a wide range of health care professionals and stakeholders
  • Ability to set priorities and demonstrate sound judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, allocate time appropriately and show initiative
  • Ability to solve problems and make evidence-based decisions
  • Excellent ability to work as a team and build positive working relationships with peers, colleagues and partners
  • Ability to support learning opportunities and facilitate dialogue/discussion
  • Ability to assess and evaluate program effectiveness within a compliance driven environment

Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or related discipline, with 2-3 years of experience in healthcare, quality improvement, patient experience, or community engagement. Experience working with patients, families, and caregivers is required. Equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered. Experience in healthcare/hospital settings, quality assurance, risk management, project management, patient safety, or incident reporting is an asset. Regulated healthcare professional designation, Master's degree, relevant certifications, software proficiency, and bilingual English/French skills are considered assets.
