Job summary

Extendicare (Canada) Inc. in Red Deer, Alberta is seeking a part-time Qualified Life Activity (QLA) to plan, implement, evaluate and revise activation programs for residents.

Reporting to the Recreation Manager, the QLA will:

• Plan, implement, evaluate, develop, and revise both individual and group activation programs based on assessed needs under the guidance of the manager.
• Set up and clean activity area as necessary and transport residents to and from programs.
• Monitor the behavior and condition of residents during programs and report any significant changes to the manager and nursing staff as appropriate.
• Maintain program and resident records according to department policy. Report, document and communicate participation by residents to registered staff.
• Work collaboratively within the interdisciplinary team.
