Our client, a leading Tier 1 manufacturing supplier is looking for a Quality Manager to join their team
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspection of purchased parts and materials, manufactured components and assemblies
- Motivates the team to collaborate and reach “best in class”. By coaching and developing QC Team members, this Manager ensures employees are competent in the product validation and certification process, while working in a clean and safe manner
- Actively participate in various activities that are critical to meeting the plants SQDCM (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale) objectives
- Ensure quality is demonstrated and continuously improving through accountability and tough calls
- Reviews all critical issues from prior shift and works with Management at Morning Meeting to resolve
- Represents “Voice of the Customer” at customer facility and Team meetings
- Plays a critical role in assuring our product meets customer quality expectations by proactively resolving quality issues before impacting the customer
- Attends to Logistics issues and product evaluation concerns through materials from our supply base
- Works through warranty reviews and disposition of returned materials with Quality Engineers
- Verifies Error & Mistake Proofing (EMP) countermeasures are functioning
- Analyzing quality data with integrity from internal and external indicators to ensure calibration
- Assisting production with problem solving and developing standardized work procedures for Operators
- Participating in QC and other Pillar and KPI meetings regularly; providing input and coordination
- Updating, developing and monitoring internal quality metrics
- Motivating team through recognition, performance and goal setting, corrective counselling as required
- Planning, prioritizing, setting goas and managing multiple projects in a technical and business environment
- Leveraging one’s strong communication skills to support meetings at all levels, including Senior Management
- Establishing partnerships both internally and externally to influence without direct authority
- Contributing to driving success by clarifying expectations, demonstrating humility and minimizing political hurdles
- Committed to delivering results and champion achievements by driving for discontinuity
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or University Degree in a technical discipline
- Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory production and quality experience in the automotive industry
- Experience with the application and management of Quality Control processes such as APQP, Control Plans, Corrective actions, Root Cause analysis, Quality Documents in a high volume, just-in-time environment
- Extensive experience with QC concepts, practices and procedures
- Proficient in MS Office, strong interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills
- Experience with WCM, Lean tools and the Kaizen process consistently working to standardized objectives
- Experience with the management of unionized employees in a team environment
