Job description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
As a member of the Quality Team, the Quality Manager reports to the Assistant General Manager, Engineering, and is responsible for the internal aspects of the quality system. Work must be performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and quality systems. Working knowledge of SPS, 6S, 5S, and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Investigate quality issues and participate in root cause analysis.
  • Manage customer communication regarding quality-related issues.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives within the plant.
  • Develop and utilize root cause analysis methodologies such as CPK, 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, and PDCA cycle.
  • Address production floor quality issues.
  • Create and maintain quality control processes for automotive manufacturing.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality problems.
  • Manage internal and external audits, including LPA and process/control plan audits.
  • Oversee CQI-9 and other specialized audits.
  • Maintain the quality manual and update procedures as needed.
  • Supervise QA inspectors.
  • Stay updated on the latest quality control tools, techniques, and standards in the automotive industry.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems.
  • Adhere to company policies including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 17025.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in quality management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in quality assurance within the automotive industry.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills; able to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and multitask effectively.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work indoors in noisy environments and in extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required.
TECHNICAL & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong communication skills and high motivation.
  • Organized with clear technical report writing skills.
