Job description

Pro Metal Industries has been in operation for over 30 years and is 100% owned by Pasqua First Nation. We are a world-class metal fabrication and machining facility located in Regina, Saskatchewan. We are one of the only First Nations-owned manufacturing enterprises in Canada and a few First Nations-owned military suppliers. Pro Metal offers plasma, laser, and waterjet cutting, CWB and AWS Welding, CNC machining, and Powder Coating. We serve military, defense, agriculture, mining, construction, and oil and gas industries. Our team is dynamic and engaged, working together to ensure growth and success.

Position: Full-Time Quality Manager

Reporting to the President and General Manager, the Quality Manager will oversee compliance with ISO 9001, CWB, and other standards, ensuring the organization meets customer requirements and maintains quality standards.

Qualifications include a university degree or college diploma in a manufacturing-related discipline and 5-10 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Control within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise all Quality Assurance and Control activities, including maintaining instrument qualification and ensuring the Quality Management System's effectiveness.
  2. Coordinate with customers to resolve concerns and implement corrective or preventive actions.
  3. Manage ISO audits and customer site audits, ensuring compliance and addressing audit questions.
  4. Respond to customer quality surveys, RFIs, and related activities.
  5. Lead corrective and preventive actions for process or product discrepancies.
  6. Conduct management reviews and contribute to quality planning.
  7. Promote continuous improvement through Lean strategies and housekeeping initiatives.
  8. Control authority media, stamps, signatures, and validation tools.
  9. Plan and document metrological inspections.
  10. Ensure clarity and completeness of quality documentation.
  11. Educate and supervise quality control staff.
  12. Maintain calibration programs and monitor measurement instruments.
  13. Develop and recommend calibration processes and work instructions.
  14. Document nonconformance reports and advise management of quality issues.
  15. Conduct supplier audits and internal audits per ISO 9001 standards.
  16. Maintain organized quality records for review.
Qualifications:
  1. College diploma or university degree in a manufacturing-related discipline with 5-10 years of experience.
  2. Excellent communication skills for interacting with leadership, stakeholders, and the public.
  3. At least 2 years of experience as a metrology inspector or 3 years managing a metrology team.
  4. Minimum 5 years in Quality Assurance and Control, including experience with ITPs, control plans, and First Article Inspections.
  5. Canadian citizenship, clean criminal record, and ability to pass security clearance.
  6. Lead Auditor certification or equivalent ISO 9001 internal auditing experience preferred.
  7. Deep knowledge of inspection practices, ISO standards, and metrology equipment, including CAD understanding.
  8. Strong computer skills, especially MS Office.
  9. Leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams, motivate staff, and improve performance.
