Job Summary & Requirements
The Hudson Regional Cancer Program (HRCP) is one of fourteen programs in Ontario. The Quality Lead plays a key role in leading quality initiatives and projects to meet Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario) deliverables and support effective cancer care programming based on best evidence. The role also involves supporting regional cancer screening operations for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer programs, along with cancer prevention initiatives aimed at increasing screening rates in the North Simcoe Muskoka Region. This position requires a self-directed, analytical, and organized individual.
Team Responsibilities
- Support the strategic and operational functions of HRCP
- Develop, implement, and evaluate initiatives for Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario), HRCP, and hospitals
- Provide leadership in quality improvement
- Support regional engagement at community and provider levels
- Participate in Ontario Health, HRCP, hospital, and regional committees
- Support HRCP Leadership Team and Regional Leads
- Design and deliver various media and communication tools
- Facilitate knowledge transfer to partners
- Identify and support initiatives to reduce barriers to equitable access for underserved populations
Education
- Four-year undergraduate degree in Applied Health Sciences, Community Health, Education, or Business
- Certification in Project Management and Quality Improvement is an asset
- Master's degree is an asset
Experience
- At least five years in a professional, quality improvement, or leadership role in healthcare
- One year in the cancer care system with understanding of Ontario Cancer System and Cancer Plan 2024-2028
- Knowledge of North Simcoe Muskoka healthcare system and partners in cancer care and prevention
- Experience in adult education principles and delivery
- Expertise in program and project development and evaluation
- Experience with project management and budgeting
- Experience implementing process and practice changes in health systems
