Job description

The Quality Lab Co-op Student will assist the Quality Control (QC) team in performing analytical testing and monitoring of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. This role provides hands-on experience in a regulated laboratory environment and offers insight into quality systems and operations in the food and chemical industries.

Your Tasks

  • Perform routine laboratory testing using techniques such as titration, pH measurement, spectrophotometry, HPLC, and other analytical methods.
  • Support the daily operation of the lab by preparing reagents, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  • Collect and analyze samples from production batches to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Accurately document results and maintain laboratory records in accordance with GMP and ISO standards.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of quality deviations or out-of-specification results.
  • Participate in equipment calibration and qualification programs.
  • Collaborate with production and QA personnel to support cross-functional quality initiatives.

Your Profile

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in laboratory work and analytical testing.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety and good documentation practices.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Previous lab experience (academic or industrial) is an asset.
