Job summary

EFS-plastics Inc. is seeking a Quality Lab Technician for plastics recycling. You will conduct physical and chemical testing on recycled materials, ensuring they meet internal quality standards and customer specs.

You will support production with data, identify defects, and help maintain consistency in recycled plastic products. The role requires a chemistry/ polymer science background, 1–3 years in labs or manufacturing, and familiarity with plastic testing methods.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment (plastics or recycling industry preferred).
• Familiarity with plastic testing methods and lab equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Excel, data entry systems).
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical and chemical testing on incoming raw materials and finished recycled plastic products.
• Conduct tests such as melt flow index (MFI), density, moisture content, contamination analysis, and color evaluation.
• Collect and prepare samples from production lines and incoming materials.
• Record, analyze, and report test results in accordance with company procedures.
• Monitor product quality and identify deviations from specifications.
• Work closely with production teams to address quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (e.g., ISO standards).
• Maintain organized and accurate lab records and documentation.
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and process efficiency.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for conducting testing, inspection, and analysis of recycled plastic materials to ensure they meet internal quality standards and customer specifications. This role supports production by providing accurate data, identifying defects, and helping maintain consistency in recycled plastic products.
