Job description

Our client company- Refrigerated Trailer manufactory is currently seeking motivated Quality Inspector to join their growing team in a fast‑paced manufacturing Plant in Sarnia!

Shift: Monday through Thursday 7:30 am to 6 pm with overtime availability on Fridays.

Job Type: Full‑time, Permanent

SUMMARY

In charge of quality inspection for chassis assembly/components in North America, focusing on identifying damages and defects. Diagnosing potential root causes related to abuse or improper installation. Gather firsthand information from the assembly line or product to update the Quarantine Summary Report.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Examine and approve incoming materials, ensure adherence to specifications through visual and measurement tests, and prompt rejection and return substandard materials.
  • Monitor the in‑process production phase by verifying specifications, conduct visual and measurement tests, and communicate necessary adjustments to the production supervisor.
  • Validate finished products by confirming specifications through visual and measurement tests, address re‑work requirements, and oversee the re‑work process.
  • Understand chassis assembly and specifications to comprehend product and service requirements.
  • Record inspection findings by completing comprehensive reports and logs, summarize re‑work and waste, and document data in the quality database.
  • Maintain the functionality of measurement equipment by adhering to operating instructions and calibration requirements, promptly arranging for repairs when necessary.
  • Enhance job knowledge by active engagement in educational opportunities and being current with technical publications.
  • Contribute to the high‑quality achievement and organizational objectives by fulfilling related responsibilities as required.
  • Educate and train the production team on quality control standards to enhance product excellence.
  • Resolve quality‑related issues promptly to ensure a seamless production process.
  • Uphold a clean and safe working environment.
  • Strictly follow all OSHA safety standards and adhere to CEPA regulations.
  • Report any delays, accidents, or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Experience using and understanding a tape measure.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Documentation skills.
  • Reporting skills.
  • Experience using tools.
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques is preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and move heavy chassis components or materials.
  • Standing/Walking: Extended periods of standing or walking on the manufacturing floor.
  • Manual Dexterity: Precise handling of tools and equipment for assembling or manipulating chassis parts.
  • Repetitive Motion: Performing repetitive tasks such as tightening bolts, fastening components, or other assembly line activities.
  • Bending and Stooping: Required when inspecting, assembling, or working on lower parts of the chassis.
  • Visual Acuity: Keen attention to detail for inspecting and identifying potential defects in chassis components.
  • Safety Procedures: Strict adherence to safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established safety guidelines.
Work Environment
  • Working in Confined Spaces: Depending on the manufacturing environment, the need to work in tight or confined spaces may arise.
  • Noise Exposure: Exposure to loud machinery and equipment noise, requiring the use of hearing protection.
