Qualifications

  • 2+ years of aerospace inspection experience required.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards is essential.
  • Experience with Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing preferred.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Duties include inspection of aerospace precision machining details, assemblies and special processes.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Perform inspection of precision parts and assemblies to customer drawings and specifications (using tools such as calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, CMM’s, micrometers).
  2. Generate First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102.
  3. Generate Customer Required documents such as C of C’s for product.
  4. Data collection and generation of non-conformance reports.
  5. Document/discuss unacceptable or inferior quality materials with internal and external parties and take corrective action.
  6. Internal auditing of control plans and process conformance.
  7. Participate in Kaizen events & 5S initiatives.
  8. All other duties as assigned.

DIMENSIONS:

  1. Post-secondary education in a related field. Certificate in Quality Assurance/Quality Technician preferred.
  2. 2+ years inspection experience within the aerospace industry.
  3. Ability to read blueprint drawings and specifications.
  4. Adequate working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  5. ISO 9001 or AS9100 experience.
  6. Six Sigma/5S Lean Manufacturing training (MPC, SPC, FMEA, Process Mapping).
  7. Well versed in Geometric Tolerances.
  8. CMM experience an asset.
  9. Knowledge in Model Base Definition / Digital Product Definition an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Physical:

  1. Work is normally performed in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  3. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  4. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  5. Use of office equipment including computers, telephones, calculators, copiers and fax machines.
  6. Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety shoes, safety goggles, ear plugs, fitted dust mask, etc. as required.

Mental:

  1. Must be able to take on new assignments as required.
  2. Must work under deadlines and related stresses in a timely manner.
  3. Must be able to handle various personnel and other situations as they arise in a professional manner.
