Job summary

Noranco Inc. is seeking an experienced QA Inspector to perform inspection of aerospace precision machining details, assemblies, and special processes in a manufacturing setting in Vaughan, Canada.

Responsibilities include applying CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to verify drawings and specs, generating First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102, and producing required C of C documents.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a related field is required or preferred.
• ISO 9001 or AS9100 experience is expected.
• Six Sigma/5S Lean training is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprint drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect precision parts and assemblies to customer drawings using calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, CMMs, micrometers.
• Generate First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102.
• Create Customer Required documents such as C of C’s for products.
• Collect data and generate non-conformance reports.
• Discuss and document any unacceptable materials and aid corrective actions.
• Conduct internal audits of control plans and process conformance.
• Participate in Kaizen events and 5S initiatives.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Duties include inspection of aerospace precision machining details, assemblies and special processes.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Perform inspection of precision parts and assemblies to customer drawings and specifications (using tools such as calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, CMM’s, micrometers)
• Generate First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102
• Generate Customer Required documents such as C of C’s for product
• Data collection and generation of non-conformance reports
• Document/discuss unacceptable or inferior quality materials with internal and external parties and take corrective action
• Internal auditing of control plans and process conformance
• Participate in Kaizen events & 5S initiatives
• All other duties as assigned

DIMENSIONS:

• Post-secondary education in a related field. Certificate in Quality Assurance/Quality Technician preferred.
• 2+ years inspection experience within the aerospace industry;
• Ability to read blueprint drawings and specifications;
• Adequate working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
• ISO 9001 or AS9100 experience;
• Six Sigma/5S Lean Manufacturing training (MPC, SPC, FMEA, Process Mapping);
• Well versed in Geometric Tolerances
• CMM experience an asset
• Knowledge in Model Base Definition / Digital Product Definition an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical:

• Work is normally performed in a manufacturing environment

• Use of office equipment including computers, telephones, calculators, copiers and fax machines
