Job summary

RBC is seeking a QE Automation Architect within Personal Credit Technology (PCT) in Toronto. You will lead the automated testing strategy, build and maintain scripts, and drive AI-enabled testing to improve coverage, reliability, and speed across end-to-end and performance testing.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, establish quality gates, and coach peers on Agile practices and RBC processes to ensure scalable, robust QE outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years QE lead experience with automation focus.
• Lead test design to maximize coverage via component/service tests and real-life scenarios.
• Experience with multiple test automation frameworks and scripting (Java, Selenium).

What is the opportunity ?

As a QE Automation Architect within Personal Credit Technology (PCT), you will be responsible for driving quality and champion defect prevention/early defect detection. You will be accountable for maximizing test coverage and using business analysis techniques to optimize testing activities.
You will lead the technical test effort and be responsible for identifying, building, maintaining and executing automated test scripts to ensure quality and coverage for functionality, integration, regression, end to end and performance.
You will play a key role in identifying new automation tools to increase testing efficiency.

• Design and lead the implementation of security hardening strategies across the PCT ecosystem driving AI.




• Establish engineering processes and quality gates with increased automation.




• Ensure that new, high standards for engineering quality and automation processes are met and implemented consistently across all PCT-related projects




• Drive change with respect to AI automation to ensure QE practices are scalable and robust for the entire organization.




• Coach team members on Agile, RBC processes and automation tools

What do you need to succeed ?

Must have:

• 7+ years of QE Lead experience, with 2+ years of Automation experience




• Lead test case design to provide efficient optimal coverage though component/service based tests and complex “real life” test scenarios




• Experience in a variety of test automation frameworks/tools (Postman, Cucumber, Robot) and script development using scripting languages (Java, Selenium)




• Experience working with software delivery methodologies, frameworks and best practices (Agile and Iterative Waterfall)




• 2 or moreyears hands‑on experience in test integration and processes including integration with DevOps pipeline (i.e. GitHub, Jenkins, OpenShift), Collaborative (i.e. Confluence, JIRA) and Test Management tools (qTest)




• Experience using Claude Code, Devin AI, GitHub Copilot

Nice-to-have

• Computer Engineering, Computer Science, related (technical) degree/diploma




• Experience reviewing artefacts including code reviews (application and test automation scripts)




• Credit systems experience in financial industry
