Job summary

Modine is seeking a Quality Engineer in Calgary, Alberta to drive product and process quality across the organization. You will lead quality planning activities, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement with customers, suppliers and internal teams.

You will ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards, manage corrective actions, track quality metrics, and participate in internal audits and supplier quality programs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a quality-related role within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ISO 9001 implementation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in problem solving and critical decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality planning activities such as Control Plans, APQP, FMEA, PPAP, and Gauging.
• Initiate and participate in 8D problem solving with customers, suppliers, or internal teams.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Track quality metrics and communicate results to all levels of the organization.
• Participate in internal audit programs and lead corrective actions.
• Analyze non-conformances and customer feedback to drive reliability improvements.
• Set up vendor audits and perform vendor audits as required.
• Implement statistical analysis based on manufacturing tolerances to identify weak points and non-conformances.

Position Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for driving product and process quality across the organization by leading quality planning activities, executing root-cause analysis, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. This role ensures that quality standards are met throughout the full manufacturing lifecycle and that corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.

Key Responsibilities

• Be actively involved in quality planning (Control Plans, APQP, FMEA, PPAP, Gauging).
• Initiate and participate in 8D Problem solving meetings with customers, suppliers or internal.
• Conducting root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Tracking quality-related metrics and communicating the results to all levels of the organization.
• Participating in the internal audit program and leading the corrective actions.
• Analyzing non-conformances, and customer feedback to focus on reliability improvement in all required areas.
• Analyze vendor quality performance ang engage in various improvement and corrective actions. Setting up vendor audit schedules and performing vendor audits, as required.
• Implementing statistical analysis based on manufacturing tolerances to identify week points and non-conformances.

Required Education & Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in engineering, manufacturing or quality-assurance.
• 3+ years’ experience in a quality-related role within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge with various analytical quality processes.
• Familiarity with ISO9001 implementation.
• Strong proficiency in both verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in problem solving and critical decision making.
